EDUCATION CONTINUES AT 1 THOUSAND 476 POINTS IN THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE

Education started on March 1 in Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır and Kilis. Support activities continue along with formal education in these provinces. Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that education activities continue at 1 thousand 476 points in 10 quake- hit provinces, in addition to the schools in Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır and Kilis.

The Minister shared the image stating that there are 416 psychosocial support tents, 236 pre-school education tents, 111 primary schools, 108 secondary schools, 93 hospital classrooms, 2 prefabricated schools, 510 support and training courses established to support students to prepare for LGS and YKS exams. Minister Özer posted this image by saying, "By means of our schools, hospital classrooms, psychosocial support tents, LGS and YKS support training courses in the disaster area, wherever our children are, we are also there with education at 1 thousand 476 points... The children are our future."
 
Stating that they created educational environments in accordance with the needs of preschool, primary, secondary and high school students and young people preparing for the exam in the earthquake area, Minister Özer said that schools were opened in Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa and Kilis and that educational support continues in education and training tents, hospital classrooms and prefabricated schools established in the area. Minister Özer stated that the number of televisions installed in containers and classrooms has reached 4 thousand 500 so that children can watch cartoons and follow TRT EBA contents. Minister shared that they have been transferred approximately 203 thousand students who want to continue their education outside the quake-hit provinces. Stating that they delivered stationery sets to children and started to distribute textbooks and supplementary resources for students in 10 provinces, Minister Özer emphasized that they always stand by students as part of the "to continue education under all conditions" principle.
