"There is no single district left in Malatya where education has not started"
Stating that Malatya took a different approach, Özer stated that they have started education in 156 schools in all the remaining districts in Malatya. Restating that the education gradually started and they have given priority to the schools that have a building soundness certificate given by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Özer said that students are happy to meet their friends and that the teachers are very excited.

Stating that education also addresses many areas, Minister Özer said that the rapid normalization of education is of great importance in terms of normalizing life. Özer stressed that they have mobilized all their resources and provide all kinds of support for students to reunite with their teachers.

Pointing out that all kinds of needs of students regarding books and stationery needs are met by the Ministry of National Education, Minister Özer stated that education and training is carried out mainly with bussed education in five districts of Malatya. Özer stated that they gave very big support to the 8th and 12th grade students in the region regarding the preparation for LGS and YKS.

Noting that approximately 129 thousand students were brought together with support and training courses at 3,205 points in order to support the LGS and YKS preparation process in the disaster area, Minister Özer said that both the qualifications and capacity of all these supports will continue to be increased day by day.

Mentioning that the application process for LGS has started between April 3 and 13, Minister Özer stated that students in other provinces will be automatically registered as they will take the exam in their own schools. Announcing that students in the region can take the exam at schools in their provinces and districts if they wish, or at schools in different provinces or districts of their choice, Özer wished success to all students.

Addressing the teachers who worked with great devotion in this process, Minister Özer thanked them for being there for the citizens in every field needed by the citizens, including education and training. Expressing that the students whose schools are opened in the region are also happy, Özer wished the students to complete this education in a much stronger way by increasing their psychological resilience.

The central exam preference process as part of LGS has started for students in the disaster area
The central exam preference process within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS) has started for students in provinces where a state of emergency was declared due to the earthquake. The selections will last until April 13.

Within the scope of LGS, the central examination will be held across the country, including the provinces in the earthquake zone, on June 4, 2023. The applications for the exam will be made centrally by the Ministry on April 3-13 for all 8th grade students, except for students who are abroad and not registered in the e-School system and students in provinces where a state of emergency was declared due to earthquakes.

Thanks to the special measures taken for students in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa, where a state of emergency was declared due to the earthquake, students registered in these provinces will be able  to take the exam in other provinces if they want.

8th grade students who are in this situation will be able to choose the province and district where they will take the exam on April 3-13. Applications will be made through the e-School system.

The schools for the students who did not choose any province or district in the provinces where a state of emergency has been declared due to the earthquake, will be determined by the Ministry.
