MINISTER ÖZER MADE OBSERVATIONS IN KARKAMIŞ AFTER THE ROCKET ATTACK

Minister of Interior Affairs Mahmut Özer and Minister of Interior Affairs Süleyman Soylu visited Karkamış district of Gaziantep where a teacher and five year old child were martyred due to a rocket attack of PKK/YPG terror organization and made observations at schools damaged due to the attack.

Minister Özer made observations at the Karkamış Kocatepe Primary School where the martyred Ayşenur Alkan was working as a teacher and made announcements to the press.
 
Minister Özer said that two people were martyred and ten injured during the attack, "Of course, we are in grief. May Allah bless the souls of martyrs and we wish quick recovery for the injured. It hurts us to see that such a school was hit due to such a terror attack. It is sad to see that students left their books and notebooks at their desks and hurried to the shelters. We will quickly recover."
 
Özer announced that they decided to close down the schools for a week as a result of consultation with the Minister Soylu and Gaziantep Governor.
 
"We will also give all kinds of guidance and psychological support to students, teachers and especially families of martyrs and injured. We will quickly repair the damaged school buildings. The Republic of Türkiye will stand firmly against such attacks and show to the entire world what it can do by reinforcing its unity and solidarity," said Özer.
 
Minister Özer and Minister Soylu paid condolence visit
Following their observations in the Karkamış district, Minister of National Education Özer and Minister of Interior Affairs Soylu visited rocket hit homes and expressed their quick recovery wishes.
 
Later, they paid a condolence visit to the family of 5 year old Hasan Karataş who died during the attack.
 
Ministers Özer and Soylu also visited the family of teacher Ayşenur Alkan and expressed their condolences to her father Mustafa Alkan and mother Hayriye Alkan.
