PATENT AND TRADEMARK REGISTRATION CAMPAIGN IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

5 thousand and 30 administrators and teachers received "Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Training" organized in 41 R&D centers opened in 21 cities of the country in order to transform the production capacity of vocational education into intellectual property. Stating that the Ministry is evaluating the projects prepared by the R&D centers, Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stressed that required support will be provided for the project after an assessment and the ministry aims at completing the registry of 250 patents, useful models, designs and trademarks in 2021."

5 thousand and 30 administrators and teachers completed the intellectual rights training program organized in 41 R&D centers in 21 cities of the country in order to transform the production capacity of vocational education into intellectual property.
 
"Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Training" was supported by the experts from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and organized for all administrators and teachers working at the R&D centers between January 20 and February 10, 2021.
 
Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stressed that R&D centers are important for disseminating intellectual property culture in vocational education adding that these centers are focusing on patent, useful model, design and trademark registration and the Ministry has allocated 10 million liras as a startup support in 2020 within this context.
 
Noting that the Intellectual Rights Office affiliated to the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education has coordinated this process, Özer went on to say: "This office is coordinating intellectual rights activities of vocational and technical schools and education institutions.  In 2021, 5 thousand and 30 administrators and teachers completed the intellectual rights training organized in 41 R&D centers in 21 cities of the country as a part of a common project with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. I would like to thank the Head of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office Prof. Dr. Habip Asan and Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Prof. Dr. Kemal Varım for their support."
 
Assessment of projects developed by the R&D Centers
Pointing out that intellectual property is the most important factor that supports vocational education and the economy, Özer said, "All R&D centers in the Vocational and Technical Highs Schools developed projects based on intellectual property and submitted them to the Ministry at the end of January. Our colleagues are evaluating these project proposals. We will provide required support to the projects according to the results of this evaluation. We are aiming at completing the registry of 250 patents, useful models, designs and trademarks in 2021. The project continues like we planned. I would like to thank provincial directors of national education, school administrators, R&D center administrators and teachers for their contribution."
