PUBLIC EDUCATION COURSES ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT THROUGH "HEMBA"

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the contents of the Public Education Centers Information Network (HEMBA) digital platform will be constantly enriched and will be a "unique" platform that will serve the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye all over the world.

Minister Özer attended the Public Education Centers Information Network: "HEMBA" introductory meeting held at the Mogan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Practice Hotel.
 
Stating that OECD countries focus on digital education platforms in order to make their education systems resistant to extraordinary conditions such as Covid 19 pandemic, Özer stated that the Ministry of National Education also actively used the Education Information Network (EBA) during the Covid 19 process.
 
Reminding that EBA was the only platform for digital content production when he took office, Özer said that they created the Teacher Information Network (ÖBA) to support the distance professional initiatives of teachers. Stating that they increased the training period per teacher from 44 hours in 2021 to 250 hours by the end of 2022, Özer emphasized that as teachers are supported with professional development training, schools and students will benefit from this and the quality of education will increase.
 
"We bring the Turkish Digital Education Platform into service"
Referring to the English Digital Education Platform "Dialect" launched recently, Minister Özer said that the platform, which can be accessed for free, will be the most important supporting mechanism for the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye to learn foreign languages. Announcing that the Turkish Digital Education Platform will be opened on Monday, Özer said that they have strengthened the education system with five additional digital platforms.
 
Emphasizing that the Ministry of National Education does not only address the population in education age  but also offers all kinds of education mechanisms for the development of all citizens, Özer reminded that  the capacity of the Public Education Center was approximately 3-4 million citizens in 2021. Stating that 60-70 percent of those who benefit from Public Education Centers are women, Özer said that they have increased the capacity of the public education center to 1 million citizens per month in 2022 in order to build a healthy society. He noted that they have reached 13.5 million citizens by the end of 2022.
 
Stating that the contents on the HEMBA platform can also be accessed through e-Government, Özer stated that not only citizens within the borders of Türkiye but also citizens living abroad can benefit from the platform. Özer said that the digital platform will be a unique platform that will continuously enrich its contents and serve the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and all over the world.
 
Foreign Education Support System Was Created
The contents of the courses and seminars on the HEMBA platform were prepared by the Directorate General for Lifelong Learning. Thanks to the Platform, more citizens will be able to benefit from face-to-face training at the Public Education Centers, where approximately 12 million people benefit annually. In the platform where the digital content of 100 courses and seminars was prepared in the first place, it is aimed that this number will increase over time.
 
In addition, the Foreign Education Support System (YEDS) portal was created within the HEMBA platform in order to improve the professional knowledge of teachers living abroad and support their education. In accordance with this purpose, 50 courses and seminars were uploaded for teachers.
