THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION LAUNCHES MATHEMATICS CAMPAIGN

In cooperation with TÜBİTAK and universities, the Ministry of National Education initiated a project that will adapt mathematics lessons to daily life and help children like mathematics. Noting that they will change teaching approach, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said, "The new approach will help children like mathematics and use it in their daily lives."

The Ministry of National Education has decided to initiate new projects and campaigns in an effort to support permanent learning in Turkish, foreign language and mathematics classes.
 
Within this framework, the Ministry started to work in an effort to improve new teaching techniques and include new dynamics in teaching 4 basic skills in foreign language namely reading, understanding, listening and writing.
 
Similarly, the Ministry also focuses on improvement of Turkish classes and development of reading culture. After the finalization of "No More Schools Without Libraries Project", the Ministry is planning new activities in order to support children to adapt reading habits and improve vocabulary.
 
"We are aiming at helping children like mathematics"
The Ministry also reached the final stage of a new project about mathematics lessons.
 
The project which will be implemented in cooperation with TÜBİTAK and universities aims at permanent learning and helping children like mathematics.
 
"We will change the teaching approach. We are aiming at helping children like mathematics and adapt their knowledge to daily life. Our students will develop projects, improve their skills as a result of feedback and have permanent mathematics knowledge," said Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer.   
 
The mathematics campaign will be implemented in cooperation with TÜBİTAK and universities and the Ministry has already started to work on a project which will be carried out in cooperation with UNICEF.
