VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS ARE TAKING FIRM STEPS TOWARDS THE ANNUAL INCOME TARGET OF 3.5 BILLION LIRAS: THE CONTRIBUTION OF 932 MILLION TURKISH LIRAS TO THE ECONOMY IN THREE MONTHS

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer noted that vocational and technical high schools having revolving capital increased their income by 175 percent in the first quarter of 2023. Noting that their income has risen from 340 million liras to approximately 932 million liras compared to the previous year, Minister Özer said that the vocational high schools are taking firm steps towards the production target of 3.5 billion Turkish liras in 2023.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that within the framework of strengthening the "education-production-employment" cycle in vocational and technical education, they always support the production activities of schools in revolving capital enterprises in order to enable students to learn by doing in real production environments.
 
Expressing that vocational high schools are taking firm steps towards the production target of 3.5 billion liras in 2023, Özer noted that vocational and technical high schools having a revolving capital have increased their income by 175 percent in the first quarter of 2023, from 340 million liras to approximately 932 million liras compared to the previous year.
 
Minister Özer stated that with the income of 48 million liras from the production in the field of electrical and electronic technology during January, February and March the İstanbul Arnavutköy Mehmet Akif Ersoy Multi-Program Anatolian High School, with the income around 22 million liras on the food and beverage services the Gaziantep Şehitkamil GAHİB Carpeting and Foreign Trade Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and with its production in the field of textile technology the Beylerbeyi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School from Şehitkamil district are the first three schools that make the most contribution to the economy.
 
Top five cities with the highest income
Providing information about the first five provinces with the highest income in the first three months of 2023 as part of the revolving capital enterprises, Özer said that Istanbul increased its income to 148 million 223 thousand and Gaziantep increased its income to 110 million 497 thousand. Özer noted that Ankara ranks third with an income of 85 million 71 thousand liras, Konya ranked fourth with an income of 48 million 451 thousand liras and Şanlıurfa ranked fifth with an income of 40 million 995 thousand liras. Minister added that food and beverage services, furniture and interior design, metal technology, accommodation and travel services and chemical technology become prominent with the highest income in the first three months in 2023.
 
Vocational high school students received a share of 48 million lira from the income
Pointing out that students and teachers also benefit from the income generated as part of the revolving capital, Minister Özer stated that this production makes a great contribution both to the learning processes of the students and the country's economy. Özer noted that students received a share of 48 million liras whereas teachers received a share of 132 million liras out of the income of 932 million liras earned in the first three months.
